Food list for whites showing what they can and cannot eat in order not to be racists

When a Canadian professor declared Hawaiian Pizza racist on Twitter, he probably expected it to be popular. But for many users that went too far – one in particular had an ingenious answer ready.

Hawaiian Pizza racist? That is the background of this insane theory

“Hawaiian Pizza is a product of imperialism and colonialism,” said Uahikea Maile, a professor at the University of Toronto, in a recent Twitter posting.

In his opinion, white settlers only called the pizza “Hawaiian Pizza” because pineapple fruits were sold as “Hawaiian pineapples” by the Dole fruit company. “Sanford Dole,” claims the professor, “was a cousin of the company’s founder and aided in the illegal overthrow of the government of the Kingdom of Hawaii.”

In his post, Maile was referring to a three-year-old post from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who had come out as a pizza Hawaii fan at the time: “I have a pineapple. I have a pizza. And I stand behind this delicious Southwestern Ontario creation. #TeamPineapple @Canada “

Twitter users respond with irony to the racist Hawaiian pizza theory

In the comments, the main response was irony. One user wrote: “Yes, every time a Hawaiian pizza is baked, a child from a middle-class Hawaiian family cries. Because resentment-laden guilt cults certainly stimulate people to think seriously about racism.”

However, user @realajoster hit the nail on the head with the question: “Can I just get a   list of which foods white people are allowed to eat? I can’t research the history of every menu item.”
