Trump dismisses Chris Krebs, head of the agency responsible for electoral security

“Chris Krebs’ recent statement on the security of the 2020 elections was very inaccurate as there were massive irregularities and frauds,” Donald Trump wrote on Twitter

The President of the United States announced on Tuesday the resignation of the head of the government agency responsible for electoral security who, despite mounting evidence, contested Donald Trump’s accusations of widespread fraud in the presidential election.

“Chris Krebs’s recent statement on the security of the 2020 elections was very inaccurate, as there were massive irregularities and frauds,” wrote the Republican on Twitter, who reiterated his claims of fraud in the election.

“Therefore, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency,” added Trump.

The government agency has sought in recent days to dismiss charges of electoral fraud.

“There is no evidence of any voting system that has erased, lost or altered the ballot papers, or that has been pirated in any way,” said the organization.

“The November 3 elections were the safest in the history of the United States,” said the same agency.
