Gucci sells dress for men to break gender stereotypes in fashion

The look is supposed to “break the toxic stereotypes that shape male gender identity”.

Gender fluids in soft orange

The dress with a check pattern is part of Gucci’s fall 2020 collection and is expressly intended for men. According to the product description, the climate-friendly “ready-to-wear” garment has a clear political goal.

Gucci’s fall collection for the modern man.

Accordingly, “this tartan smock in delicate colors reflects the idea of fluidity.”  Inspired by the grunge looks of the 1990s, the dress aims to “disrupt the toxic stereotypes that mold masculine gender identity”.

The “collar and smock embroidery also add a childhood inspired element.”  The men’s dress is currently available for $3200 Canadian dollars.  That’s right $3200!  Expect to see a sea of these at the next BLM or climate change riot.

Alternatively, you can go to your local thrift shop and pick up a tablecloth from 1978.
